Education and Care for ages 2 to 4½ years
Killamarsh Bears Pre-School is a popular pre-school which offers flexible early years education provision to parents and guardians. Our dedicated team provides both education and care in a safe environment.
The pre-school is situated within Killamarsh Active; the recently modernised sports centre, in the centre of Killamarsh. This location is well sign-posted and offers the advantage of being only a 10 minutes drive from the M1 Motorway, and just 20 minutes from the centres of Sheffield or Chesterfield.
All Killamarsh Bears Pre-School members of staff are qualified in Early Years Childcare and regularly attend training courses to keep their qualifications up to date.
Likewise, all our staff have Enhanced DBS certificates and subscribe to the update service for an annual check. All permanent members of staff are ‘First Aid’ qualified.
Pre-School Ethos
Our aim is to create a happy, secure, and interesting environment where the children can explore, experiment and learn from the varied materials and situations we provide.
Our Pre School offers a range of quality learning experiences which will complement and broaden those already received from their parents.
We aim to provide a curriculum based on the current EYFS Framework which helps each child to develop individually and move towards independence.
The Pre School follows an Equal Opportunities Policy, valuing and respecting differences in society – each child is valued as an individual person without racial or gender stereotyping with respect for each child’s religious beliefs.
Management and Staff recognise how important parents as partners are.
We also maintain strong links with the local community, churches and all the schools in the area.
Our Aims and Objectives
Our aim is to develop each child to their full potential in all areas – intellectual, social and emotional, aesthetic, moral, spiritual and physical; to eventually take their place in society as a happy and fulfilled child.
We offer:
- a curriculum following the current EYFS Framework;
- individual care/attention, made possible by a high ratio of adults to children;
- fun/friendship with children and other adults;
- opportunities for parents and children to be involved in the activities of the Pre School and to see their child progress.
We are open 39 weeks of school term time and follow the Derbyshire County Council Schools holiday list.
Times can vary for Funded and Fee children – please contact our Manager.
